Welcome to the UBC MENA Journal

The UBC Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Journal is an online journal that publishes student pieces on political, historical and social topics relevant to the MENA world on a rolling basis.

The UBC MENA Journal aims to:

  • Provide a platform for constructive dialogue and debate about issues facing the MENA region

  • Provide opportunities for UBC students to publish their reflections outside the confines of academia

  • Raise awareness on the political, security and social issues facing the MENA region while cultivating understanding about the region's culture and history

Whether it is a personal experience or an argument from a course paper, the UBC MENA Journal is open to diverse perspectives in order to engage with the richness of the region. Accepted pieces will be featured in the UBC MENA Journal website and Facebook page.
